DEA TAKE BACK

The Drug Take Back event is on Saturday October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a national program by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Click here for more national information.

This event is sponsored locally by the "Coalition" and will be held at two locations. The first location is the Forks Senior Center, 1418 Cooper Street, Albion, Michigan. The second location is at the Sheridan Township Hall.

There will be a lock box at each location where you can safely dispose of your outdated prescription drugs or medications that you no longer need. The boxes will be removed later by law enforcement officers. It is important for the safety of your children and others to remove these items from your homes. It is not recommended to flush these items down the toilet.

High School graduation and drop outs

High school completion is critical to social and economic independence. In order for a society to be active and involved, its citizens must be educated and informed. Our future is dependent on our community commitment to producing successful children with the ability to learn and benefit from education. Albion's rates are affected somewhat by drug use among other factors. In Calhoun County Michigan where Albion is located, the drop out rates vary, somewhat according to the size of the community. Albion has among the worst rates, only surpassed by Battle Creek, which is the largest community in the county.

 Calhoun County employment from 2001 - 2010
